Day 13......A Lazy Desert Day

Awoke sometime after 7am.
Toast for Breakfast.
Klaus and Ann had parked nearer the Auberge because their generator had been annoying people at night and  early this morning Ann had awoken to find herself surrounded by 30 or so ATV's. and not too happy about it.  Klaus having gone on the overnight trip to the Berber camp, wasn't at home.
Also newly arrived were 60 or so extra camels for a 'Sundown' trip.
Just after 8 am some of our camp colleagues arrived back from the Berber Camp trip very bottom sore.
Remember  'Fatimah Cous-cous'.
Camels everywhere!
No full moon for a while. We were so lucky!

Worrying about a push start tomorrow morning and not sure how this will be achieved as we are facing head first into the dunes.  Steve said, when we arrived, drive in as far as you can, so we did.  Douggie in his huge RV parked  almost along side of us and that was that.  With hindsight we might have turned the van around before cutting the engine but then we wouldn't have had this amazing view of nothing but sand dunes in front of the wind screen.

Later, Ian managed to fix the starter cable back on which was a relief.  Ray had said no need to worry, we'll get a mechanic at the next stop but, I did feel vulnerable.
Whilst chatting, Ray said that he had all the tools that anyone could need on board the Unimog and we gathered that Steve was a first class mechanic so I asked why then were they not attempting to fix our problem.   Everyone laughed but neither Ray nor Steve commented.

Later that evening the Buffet meal in the hotel was excellent. The candlelight and exotic mix of joss sticks and rose water sprinkled on the floor gave an 'Arabian Nights' atmosphere.  Simply beautiful.

Bed by 9 pm and the beat of the drums outside the Berber tents slowly lulled us off to sleep.
